When You Catch Halibut, Why Not Make Fish Tacos! – Catch and Cook

Another first attempt. Due to Covid this past year, my husband has been getting into the hobby of surf fishing. He caught a nice California Halibut at Sunset Beach this past summer and we took it home to cook the next day. We used half of it for fish tacos and the other half for a grilled fillet.
Since I knew he would mess up the fillet, I watched a few Youtube videos to learn how to fillet this type of fish. I’m quite proud of how well I was able to fillet it for the first time.
My husband found a few good recipes online for the sauce and we made two styles, one grilled and one deep fried for our fish tacos. Very yummy! I think the fried one won the competition for best taste!
